Lakeside Women's Club: Tuesday, November 3rd; 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Lakeside Clubhouse. The program will feature Gerry Aitken of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. The topic is: “Pearls: Are Diamonds Really a ‘Girl’s Best Friend’?”

This presentation will cover the following topics about pearls: general information, the history of natural pearls, the creation of cultured pearls, religious references, pearls as a fashion accessory a sign of wealth and power, and will review the intriguing background of a famous, possibly infamous, pearl. The talk will feature images of pearls as seen in the paintings and sculptures at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. If you attend this presentation, please consider wearing your pearls!
